How to make a warranty claim?

Warranty Plan

The CarCare Direct warranty Plan is managed by AutoProtect MBI Ltd, a leader in automotive warranty provision. Making a claim is simple thanks to the AutoProtect customer support line on 0870 766 2786.

This team will manage all aspects of your claim form advising you of your nearest approved repairer, to making booking arrangements as well as authorising replacement vehicles (up to £30 a day), overnight accommodation payments (up to £60) and recovery costs (up to £100)

They will provide a claims number for you which you will need to quote in all correspondence.

We suggest that you use one of AutoProtect's approved repairers as the workmanship and quality is closely monitored and so allows AutoProtect to ensure they are providing the best customer service to you the customer, at a time when you need it most

The labour rate claims limit is £55 per hour for the garage and the claims limit will be as per that selected by yourself and detailed in your policy. Any labour or value of work completed greater than that covered will need to be paid directly to the repairer by yourself.

Breakdown Cover - (if taken in addition to the warranty plan)

In the event your vehicle has suffered a breakdown leaving it immobilised, you can be connected to the 24hr 365 days a year RAC emergency team by calling 0800 246 808 (UK only). Please have at hand 1. Scheme code (A106) 2. contact telephone number 3. precise location (or as accurate location as possible) and 4. your vehicle registration number

MOT Test Insurance -(if taken in addition to the warranty plan)

If your vehicle fails an MOT you will be issued a VT30 test certificate which list the items that have failed. First check against the policy regarding what is and isn't covered and then call the AutoProtect claims line on 0870 766 2786

Please have at hand 1. your policy number 2. your vehicles exact mileage 3. itemised repair cost estimate and 4. confirmation that the VT30 is available.

If all is in order you will be given a verbal claims number and authorise a maximum claim amount so you can arrange for repair to be carried out.

As ever the AutoProtect advisor will be able to guide you through all the steps.

Key Guard - (if taken in addition to the warranty plan)

All lost and stolen keys must be reported to AutoProtect on 0870 7662786 who will advise you of what action to take, and the police, within 48hours

The AutoProtect team will be able to authorise car hire if appropriate  and key replacement ( once 5 days have passed from date of loss/theft)
