The Punch Bowl Inn, Crosthwaite, Cumbria has been selected as the Michelin Pub of the Year 2009 in Michelin’s Eating Out in Pubs guide

From the 563 entries The Punch Bowl Inn was singled out for it's attractive stone building nestled in a delightful rural setting; mixed in with characterful interior features and smart homely furnishings. Added to this was an excellent community spirit and a an equally excellent home-brewed beer. The food was described as "great classical cooking"thanks in no samll wat to the quality local ingredients. Finally  the Punch Bowl was praised for it's luxury accommodation with afternoon tea included in the price of the room
