Mercedes Benz World - Weybridge

This amazing celebration of all things Mercedes- Benz is built alongside the world famous Brooklands race circuit. Best described as the greatest car showroom ever, a museum and test track rolled into one. Beautiful setting and beautiful cars, nice cafe, lots going on and FREE entry. Be aware it is very easy to turn this from a amazing value day out into a more expensive high octane experience, but it is possible to have a super time and spend next to nothing.

Inside the impressive building you find some of the most beautiful cars to ever grace a road on display as you are taken through the history of Mercedes Benz. The Theatre offers up a great film on the history with a superb soundtrack to match the visual treats. A real must is to sit in on the "Build" zone which is a break neck journey in the making of a CLK from sheet metal to the finished car. There are lots of other interactive things to get involved with and of course an ever changing display of current cars all available to sit in like some glorious motorshow but with only one car make.

Outside is the test track a combination of fast circuits, skid pan and junior driver training. This is where the day could become more expensive but for what you can do, not bonkers money. Whatever worth checking the website when planning your trip if you fancy a bit of a drive as there are often special offers to be had that are a big saving.

The driving options are great. For grown ups there is the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an AMG Mercedes alongside a professional instructor. The session is a combination of instruction and thrills. You are encouraged to accelerate and brake hard under a series of controlled scenarios such as emergency braking and driving in the wet. This is followed up by a trip round the skid pan and then a blast around the high speed course.

For those not old enough to drive but tall enough to reach the pedals there is the chance to get some early driving tuition around the special learner track. real cars, real lessons, real fun
