The Haynes Motor Museum is located in Sparkford near Yeovil just off the A30 and holds over 400 amazing cars and bikes from nostalgic classics of the 50's and 60's glorious Bentley's and Rolls Royce's to exciting super cars like the Jaguar XJ220.
This is a fabulous museum that really offers something for all the age groups but that is also realistic enough to recognise that not the whole family may want to attend and so offer an innovative family ticket for just one adult and one child. There is lots to do both inside and out and numerous events on during the year.
The museum is split into a number of exhibits with 10 different halls depicting different times and throughout the history of motoring as well as showcasing some beautiful cars and displays of cars that may become future icons, judge for yourselfStand out has to be the red room with 50 beautiful red sports cars from around the world with examples such as a 1981 Lamborghini Countach 400s and 1965 AC Cobra. There is even a Ferrari 360 Spyder which boasts Ross Brawn as its previous owner.
If the metal isn't enough for the kids there are diggers, activity centres, playgrounds and a mock up F1 car to have your picture taken in. For the more competitive there is a race track and arcade centre with numerous games to play.
