Set in the heart of the New Forest is one of the UK's if not the worlds most famous motoring museums. As a day out is has so much more to offer than just fabulous cars and is well worth the entrance fee particularly for those visiting and staying in the area for a fed day. in addition to the museum is the Palace House, home to the Montagu family, and historic Beaulieu Abbey and wondrous gardens. There are also seasonal displays and other interesting attractions.
With over 250 cars the national motoring museum reminds us of the changing face of the motor industry with vehicles from every motoring era. The museum houses some of the most famous cars ever including the record breaking bluebird. There is also a generous amount of celebrity cars including the Outspan orange mini conversion. The James Bond experience is a mixture of gadgets and cars from the Bond films themselves, appropriate considering the wartime espionage links of the house. The current Jaguar jamboree is a wonderful exhibition of this great iconic brand with the great cars from its illustrious history on display
In addition to the fantastic cars are displays of motoring through the ages with the excellent wheels tour, a ride in a special pod taking you through the different periods in motoring history. There are other non car related features such as the excellent Secret army display which has lots of information around the special operations executives who completed their training during the war at the Beaulieu "finishing school" not to mention the Abbey and the gardens. There really is too much for one day.
Thankfully the visitor can take their time as ticket entry is valid for up to 6 days free re -entry( conditions apply see website for details) which makes the family ticket ( 2adults and 3 children) seem better value at £43*
Definitely worth visiting the website at www.beaulieu.co.uk to organise your trip in advance
* ticket price and re-entry information correct at time of writing. before visiting check website for current information
