This is the way we scrape the ice
No one likes scraping the ice off a car on a bitter winter morning but truthfully there is no good reason for warming your car up before setting off. All you are doing is wasting fuel, and before you start objecting with claims of “operating temperatures” don’t bother.
Modern engines do not need to be warmed through. Yes engines are less efficient when cold. Yes roaring off when cold does cause engine wear because cold oil doesn’t lubricate the parts so well. However the solution is to drive steady and watch the revs until the engine has warmed up. On the up side by not leaving your car running on your drive to defrost while you sit indoors finishing your breakfast means no one can steal it.
